THE WINERY

Tradition, quality and sustainability in the heart of the Conegliano Hills

From the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, Borgo Antico stands today as a model of sustainability and excellence in winemaking, recognized at prestigious events such as Vinitaly and Gambero Rosso.
Our wines, with their delicate aromas and refined structure, are born from moraine soils rich in calcium, ideal for expressing the character and elegance of Prosecco Superiore DOCG and other hillside wines.

A family story

Our story is one of passion and family that began in 1973, when Vito Marchesin decided to devote himself to crafting artisanal wines.
Over time, the love for the vineyard involved the whole family, especially his son Leonardo, who as a child loved following his father among the rows, learning the secrets of the craft.
After becoming an oenologist, in 1995 Leonardo took over the family legacy and now leads the estate, which spans 30 hectares of vineyards and produces about 160,000 bottles per year.

Innovation and respect for tradition

In producing Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOCG Prosecco Superiore, we use cryomaceration, a technique that extracts primary aromas from the grape skins to create wines that are expressive and aromatic, without invasive filtration.
The natural yeasts of the grapes give structure and perfume, while the use of sulfites is kept to a minimum — often with levels lower than those of organic wines.

Sustainability and care for the environment

True quality, we believe, begins with respect for the land.
We use renewable energy, grapes from our own vineyards, and collaborate only with trusted local growers, with whom we have built relationships of friendship and genuine cooperation over the years.
Since 2022, we have also contributed to the restoration of the 15th-century Oratory of Saint Michael, located right next to our estate — a gesture that unites respect for history with the desire to give beauty back to the territory.

The evolution of the winery

Over the years, the winery has expanded and modernized while maintaining its family warmth that has always defined it.
The original 1935 structure, although expanded and modernized, continues to reflect our identity: a place where modern technology and artisanal tradition coexist in perfect harmony.

Awards and recognition

Our commitment and passion are recognized nationally and internationally.
We proudly appear in the Gambero Rosso Guide as one of the best Italian sparkling wines for value, and we have received several awards, including:

  • Silver Medal at the Forum Spumanti – International Wine Competition Città del Vino 2021 for Prosecco Superiore DOCG 2020 Conegliano-Valdobbiadene

  • Prosecco Rosé 2020 Prosecco DOC
,

Today, as in the past, Borgo Antico represents the perfect balance between tradition, innovation, and respect for nature—a commitment to quality that renews itself every day.
